M3U playlists explained (and how to load yours)
What an M3U actually is, how IPTV players read it, and how to add, refresh and fix yours.
Your M3U link is the key that unlocks the whole channel list. Understanding it makes every setup easier.
What an M3U is
An M3U is just a text file of channels. Each entry has a line that points to the stream and a line with the channel name, logo and EPG data.
How players use it
When you paste the link into a player, the player downloads that text file, parses the channel list, and reads the separate EPG source for the 7-day guide.
Adding vs pasting
Some apps want the URL pasted, some want the file uploaded. The URL method is better: when we update the playlist on our side, your app picks up the changes on refresh.
Common problems
- Empty list — usually a typo in the link.
- Channels load but no EPG — refresh the guide source.
- Only some channels work — force the app to reload the playlist.
Keep it fresh
Set your player to auto-update the playlist daily so new channels appear automatically.
Keep your M3U link private — anyone with it can use your subscription.
