IPTV buffering: fix it in 5 steps

Buffering is almost never the playlist's fault. Work through these five fixes in order and it usually disappears.

IPTV buffering: fix it in 5 steps — NEOIPTV guide

Buffering is the most common IPTV complaint, and it is almost always fixable on your side. Work through these in order.

1. Use ethernet

Wi-Fi is the #1 cause of buffering. A wired connection to the router removes most of it instantly.

2. Move the router closer

If ethernet isn't possible, put the device and router in the same room and away from microwaves and thick walls.

3. Change the buffer size

In TiviMate or Smarters, raise the buffer size in the player settings. A larger buffer smooths out small network hiccups.

4. Refresh the playlist

A stale playlist can point at old streams. Force a playlist update in the player.

5. Restart the device

A full restart clears memory leaks and stale network state. This fixes more buffering than people expect.
